Tumor subtype and tumor invasiveness are important risk factors for survival in appendiceal malignancies. Appendectomy alone presents satisfactory results, but complete staging of the tumor should always be considered. In addition, surgical choice is not presented as an effective factor for improved clinical outcomes and survival rates. Further prospective studies are needed to evaluate the proper staging of the tumors.
