Herein, we propose a new strategy to tune the magnitude of the mechanoresponsive shift of the maximum emission wavelength (Δ λ em ). The Δ λ em of thienylbenzothiadiazole crystals has been extended to 69 nm by doping with a trace amount of dithienylbenzothiadiazole, whereas the pure crystal of thienylbenzothiadiazole exhibited a Δ λ em of 10 nm. This doping strategy should accelerate the development of advanced mechanosensing materials composed of organic crystals.
