Superior vena cava prosthetic replacement for non-small cell lung cancer: is it worthwhile?

In highly selected patients with NSCLC involving the SVC, mortality is acceptable after complete en-bloc resection and prosthetic replacement done in an expert centre. SVC involvement should not preclude consideration of curative resection in selected patients.
