Nearly half of the adolescents in an Italian school-based study exceeded the recommended upper limits for daily caffeine consumption.

More than three quarters (76%) of the Italian adolescents in our study drank coffee on a daily basis and nearly half (46%) exceeded the recommended upper limits. Strategies are needed to reduce caffeine consumption by adolescents.
