Pain catastrophizing, an avoidance behavior, may be associated with higher levels of mobility apprehension in persons with major lower-limb amputation. Understanding the impact of fear-avoidance behavior will allow clinicians to identify individuals at risk for poor outcomes following amputation surgery and to develop psychological strategies to complement treatment.
