Successful transcatheter mitral valve repair for functional mitral regurgitation in a patient with mitochondrial cardiomyopathy: a case report.

Transcatheter edge-to-edge repair is a less invasive and effective treatment for severe drug-refractory mitral regurgitation in patients with mitochondrial disease. Given the limited therapeutic options for mitochondrial cardiopathy, further studies are required to uncover the mechanism underlying mitochondrial diseases and establish disease-specific treatments.
