Prevalence and factors associated with admission to the intensive care unit in children hospitalized for community-acquired pneumonia.

The prevalence of admission to intensive care in children with community-acquired pneumonia was 14.5%. Younger patients with pneumonia, with greater severity assessed with the modified PIRO score and with complicated pneumonia have a higher prevalence of admission to intensive care.
