We identified hypoinflammatory and hyperinflammatory subphenotypes of paediatric ARDS from two separate cohorts with utility for prognostic and potentially predictive, enrichment. Future paediatric ARDS trials should identify and leverage biomarker-defined subphenotypes in their analysis.
