Three structurally new polyoxometalate-templated silver clusters, homometallic [(SiW 9 O 34 )@Ag 24 ( i PrS) 11 (DPPP) 6 Cl] 2 (SiW 12 O 40 ) (Ag 24 ), heterometallic [(SiW 9 O 34 )@Ag 22 Cu( i PrS) 11 (DPPP) 6 Cl](SbF 6 ) 2 (Ag 22 Cu) and {Ag 16 ( i PrS) 6 (DPPP) 8 (CH 3 COO) 4 [Co 4 (OH) 3 (H 2 O)SiW 9 O 33 ] 2 }·(CH 3 CN) 4 (Ag 16 Co 8 ) ( i PrS - = isopropanethiolate, DPPP = 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane, SbF 6 - = hexafluoroantimonate) have been successfully synthesized using a facile solvothermal approach. The introduction of copper and cobalt ions can induce obvious changes in the molecular configuration of the obtained clusters, leading to distinct temperature-dependent photoluminescence and photothermal conversion properties.
