The analgesic efficacy and duration of lidocaine on vascular pain induced by hypertonic saline infusion: a double-blinded, randomized control trial.

A single bolus of Lidocaine was effective in eliminating the pain induced by hypertonic saline infusion, but just for a short period of time. Lidocaine (without venous occlusion) only provides a short analgesic duration for local vein.
