DNA is self-assembled with Fmoc-amino acids and Cu 2+ to construct a supramolecular catechol oxidase-mimetic catalyst, which exhibits remarkable activity in catalyzing colorimetric reactions. This catalytic system is used for the detection of DNA hybridization with a high selectivity and a low detection limit.
