Prevalence of SIRS with primary epiploic appendagitis.

PEA patients with SIRS response trend towards a higher hospital admission rate and are significantly more likely to have other radiological comorbidities than non-SIRS patients. It is important to look for other pathological conditions in a SIRS positive patient with a CT-diagnosis of PEA.
