Discrepancies present in the literature so far are clarified and a deeper insight is provided into the fragmentation processes of organophosphorus pesticides. The combination of diverse experimental and theoretical approaches yielded consistent results, thus demonstrating continuous progress in understanding gas-phase reactions in MS experiments.
