Although conjoint visits are used infrequently, findings suggest it is not because they are unhelpful as providers generally found this type of appointment favorable. Rather, they and their teams lack time, training, and support needed for implementation. This research provides an introduction for researchers or clinicians to better understand the use of conjoint visits for patients with high needs and complexities. Future work focused on addressing barriers cited by providers regarding conjoint visits would increase providers' ability to use this form of care when it is needed.
