The equine gammaherpesviruses may be associated with the development of macrodendritic ulcerative keratitis and conjunctival lymphocytic masses in foals. In vivo confocal microscopy of horses with macrodendrites revealed similar findings to other host species with herpetic dendritic keratitis.
