Our findings highlight the potential contribution of high levels of work engagement to adequate asthma self-management, good quality of life, and a positive subjective prognosis of gainful employment among employees with asthma. Overcommitment shows associations with those outcomes in the opposite direction, which suggests a detrimental role in asthma.
