HLA antibodies in fetal and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia.

Additional studies are needed to further examine whether the strong HLA antibodies identified in HPA-antibody-negative cases directly cause neonatal thrombocytopenia and whether prenatal treatment may be warranted in select cases to prevent recurrence.
