Telehealth for the Care of Complex Chronic Pediatric Patients in Latin America and the Caribbean: Narrative Review.

The incorporation of ICTs in comprehensive patient care is carried out mainly through home telemonitoring and the use of virtual platforms to empower patients and families. This modality allows to improve the attention and to offer assistance of specialties when there are geographic gaps. Telemedicine improves health outcomes, although article samples are mostly limited. It is made visible that the greatest impact in the region will be linked to the development of telehealth protocols and standards and legal and ethical frameworks, in order to guarantee good telehealth practices.
