Integrating magnetic and optical properties into a metal-organic framework (MOF) remains a great challenge. Herein, we have reasonably constructed two 3D magnetooptical MOFs by incorporating a [Ir III (ppy) 2 (bpy)] + -based fluorescent metalloligand and magnetic Ln III centers. The alternating arrangements of Δ- or Λ-[Ir III (ppy) 2 (bpy)] + endow these MOFs with enhanced optical properties. Moreover, the use of Dy III leads to field-induced slow magnetic relaxation. This work provides an effective strategy for the preparation of magnetooptical bifunctional MOFs.
