Codetection of Plasmodium falciparum in Children Hospitalized With Dengue Fever in the Dominican Republic.

The codetection of malaria and dengue in children was overall uncommon in our Dominican Republic cohort despite the rise in cases in 2019 but may be associated with a more severe hospital course. Further epidemiological and cohort studies to characterize the risk of both pathogens as case numbers fluctuate will be important to better understand the dynamics of coinfections.
