Gastroschisis in Mozambique: current status and priorities for improving care from Hospital Central de Maputo, the largest and referral hospital of the country.

While the mortality rate remains high for gastroschisis patients in Mozambique, there have been a few survivors when surgery is performed. Improvements in neonatal care are needed. Given the high mortality rates and limited resources, we plan to focus our surgical efforts on bedside closure techniques.
