Management of pregnant women with diabetes seems to follow recommendations for pharmacological treatment. However, there is substantial room for improvement in HbA1c control, that is, in the planning of pregnancy in women with diabetes, in the initiation of antidiabetic medication among women with diabetes type 2 who may need it, and likely in the compliance with treatments in women with type 2 and type 1 diabetes.
