Truncated octahedral spinel LiMn 2 O 4 was homogenously coated by amorphous carbon layer via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using acetylene gas (C 2 H 2 ) as carbon source to ease Mn dissolution to improve high-temperature performance, delivering a capacity retention of 92.9% after 1000 cycles at 5C at 50 °C.
