The overall 31% incidence of postoperative respiratory adverse events reaffirms the appropriateness of PICU disposition for a large proportion of children undergoing endoscopic LC repair. Further studies with increased sample sizes are needed to tease apart patient or procedure-specific factors that significantly increase the risk of respiratory adverse events to have more definitive evidence regarding safe postoperative disposition.
