Adenovirus-associated acute interstitial nephritis (AAIN) should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute kidney failure following allogeneic bone marrow transplant. Although not intended for the definitive diagnosis of AAIN, 18 FDG PET/CT can be a helpful noninvasive diagnostic tool, especially when a biopsy is not feasible.
