Epigenetic and transcriptional distinct profiles detected at basal levels among PDLCs were maintained after osteogenic induction. We cannot discard the existence of a complex that represses osteogenesis, suggesting the individual donors' characteristics have significant impact on the osteogenic phenotype acquisition.
