This study is the first to examine associations among biofilm, as a wound-related factors, systemic inflammation, wound-related symptoms, and wound healing in clinical settings. Symptom severity, level of systemic CRP, and wound-related factors should be considered as well as assessment of biofilm in CVLU in older individuals with CVLU.
