The title compound, C 5 H 6 BrN 3 , crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group P 2 1 2 1 2 1 with two mol-ecules with different conformations in the asymmetric unit. In the crystal, N-H⋯N and bifurcated N-H⋯(N,N) hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into [100] chains; a short Br⋯Br halogen bond and π-π stacking inter-actions are also observed.
