Efficacy of three consecutive therapeutic plasma exchanges in major ABO-incompatible hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Our study demonstrated that three consecutive TPEs were effective in reducing DSI titer in major ABOi HSCT. Reduction of pretransplant DSI in recipients could decrease requirement for RBC transfusion. Three consecutive TPEs are necessary for successful erythrocyte engraftment and normal erythropoiesis in this setting.
