Comprehensive proteomics screening of patients undergoing cardiac surgery and its association with the development of postoperative delirium. We propose two different multivariable models: the first model inputs information on risk factors for developing postoperative delirium after cardiac surgery, which could be used clinically to preoperatively predict those patients at higher risk; and the second model informs on postoperative proteomic signatures that bring light to delirium pathophysiology and underlying mechanisms for further investigation.
