The central Ni II atom in the title complex, [Ni(C 13 H 25 N 2 S 2 ) 2 ], is located on an inversion center and adopts a roughly square-planar coordination environment defined by two chelating N , S donor sets of two symmetry-related ligands in a trans configuration. The Ni-N and Ni-S bond lenghts are 1.9193 (14) and 2.1788 (5) Å, respectively, with a chelating N-Ni-S bond angle of 86.05 (4)°. These data are compared with those measured for similar di-thio-carbazato ligands that bear n -octyl or n -hexyl alkyl chains. Slight differences are observed with respect to the phenyl-ethyl-idene derivative where the ligands are bound cis relative to one another.
