Effect of ethnicity and socioeconomic deprivation on uptake of renal supportive care and dialysis decision-making in older adults.

Predictive factors for choosing supportive care were clinical, rather than socioeconomic. Lower socioeconomic status was associated with increased rates of hospitalization in the KRT group. This is a possible signal that these groups experienced greater morbidity on KRT versus supportive care, an association not demonstrated amongst higher socioeconomic groups.
