Proximal PAV was the strongest predictor of MACE when adjusted for cardiovascular risk factors and plaque at other locations. However, when presence of plaque was only adjusted for cardiovascular risk factors, proximal, mid, and distal plaque localization showed a similar predictive ability for MACE.
