Inducing amorphous components into Al 2 O 3 leads to elongation of the Al-O bond and the formation of oxygen vacancies, which makes Al 2 O 3 an independent photocatalyst for CO 2 adsorption and reduction. The generation rate of CO can reach 36.5 μmol g -1 h -1 , which is 6.5 times that of P25 TiO 2 .
