Every suspected nonparaneoplastic autoimmune retinopathy patient should benefit from gene panel testing to not overlook undiagnosed IRDs. By contrast, unilateral pigmentary retinopathy, asymmetrical pigmentary retinopathy, and acute zonal occult outer retinopathy subpopulations did not benefit from genetic testing in this study.
