The mastic gum and leaves obtained from P. lentiscus may have great potential in terms of their chemical content, antiviral and cytotoxic activities. In ovo antiviral activity studies on the P. lentiscus were evaluated for the first time. Attributable to these properties, it is a sustainable, renewable natural resource that can be used as an additive and flavor in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
