Ecological Theory and Concepts in Ecotoxicology.

Over the past several decades scientists have proposed fostering ecology in ecotoxicology (Baird et al., 1996) or even turning parts of the field into stress ecology (Van Straalen, 2003). Indeed, ecologists have opened their research to include chemical stressors as one object of their research. In addition, researchers in the field of ecotoxicology increasingly consider ecological processes, concepts, and theory as their working basis.
