The study results suggested that genetic variation of rs846910 and rs1208663 polymorphism of the HSD11B1 gene is related to the susceptibility to insulin resistance. Our results provide a basis to begin basic research on the role of the HSD11B1 gene in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance.
