We thank Emhmed Ali and Ngyen for their letter1 responding to our paper in Liver International.2 We appreciate their drawing our attention to other studies examining both the prevalence of HCV and its delayed diagnosis among U.S. immigrants versus non-immigrants. The much broader HCV screening mandate in the U.S. allows for more accurate estimates of how many diagnoses were missed prior to this broadened screening policy.
