SP rTaTME: initial clinical experience with single-port robotic transanal total mesorectal excision (SP rTaTME).

SP rTaTME is feasible and can be safely performed. It provides excellent optics and dexterity to work in a limited space. Future studies are required to further define the safety profile and the ultimate utility of the SP robot for taTME.
