This is the first report of reconstructive surgery using a fibular strut bone graft for lumbosacral deformity with destruction of the sacroiliac joint in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1). These findings suggest that reconstruction with a fibular strut autograft is useful for lumbosacral spinal deformity that includes destruction of the sacroiliac joints in NF-1.
