We propose an acid-alkaline furfural hybrid battery that can achieve a discharging power density of 47 mW cm -2 under 100 mA cm -2 energy output with a H 2 faradaic efficiency (FE) up to ca. 200% and a furoate FE of around 97% with the aid of our developed Pt-Cu electrocatalyst.
