A risk factor analysis for local recurrence of bone and soft tissue sarcoma treated with carbon ion radiotherapy: A retrospective cohort study at a single institution.

The current study revealed that sarcomas maintaining a high glucose metabolic activity after carbon ion radiotherapy carried a risk of in-field recurrence, and the most significant risk factor of out-field recurrence was identified to be surgery before CIRT.
