Through metal-site anchoring, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were modified with ionic liquids (ILs) and used as a porous filler to prepare mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs). The targeted growth of the IL exposed more active sites and greatly enhanced CO 2 transfer in the MMMs, which exhibited excellent gas separation performance and long durability.
