HEEs comparing a wider variety of interventions are required, particularly for commonly used orthoses (eg, ankle-foot orthoses) and clinical presentations (eg, post-stroke). There are opportunities to strengthen future orthotic HEEs by adopting method design features (eg, microcosting and sensitivity analyses) as recommended by HEE appraisal and reporting tools.
