Acyldifluoromethylation Enabled by NHC-Photoredox Cocatalysis.

With the continued interest in the properties of the difluoromethyl (CF 2 H) group, small molecules with alkyl-CF 2 H motifs have gained increasing attention. However, concise and efficient synthetic protocols to achieve these structures are still urgently needed. Herein, we report a new acyldifluoromethylation of inert alkenes via a synergistic NHC-photoredox catalysis featuring broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance.
