Association of serum uric acid levels with risk of epilepsy: A national population-based study.

Our study revealed a significant association between lower serum UA levels and heightened risks of epilepsy, suggesting that low UA levels may serve as an independent risk factor for epilepsy. A marginal increase in UA levels within the normal range may act as a protective factor against epilepsy.
