This review underscores the importance of providing clear information about which data is being used to inform policy decisions so that they may be evaluated and critiqued in meaningful ways that ensure decision makers are accountable. SO WHAT?: Specific data items and/or indicators should be explicitly referenced as evidence used in the development of policies promoting the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their communities from the outset so that evaluation is clear and policy makers are held accountable.
