To suit the urgency of a new strategy for hydrogen (H 2 ) evolution, a metal-organic framework (MIL-100(Fe)) is applied in the piezoelectric-driven process for catalytic H 2 generation. Herein, the piezoelectric property of MIL-100(Fe) was firstly reported and the material exhibited a high yield of H 2 (2.80 mmol g -1 h -1 ) under mechanical vibration without cocatalysts.
