Survey of NCHDs in Ireland to assess their views and opinions in relation to participation in health research and the impact of new Irish data protection regulations.

Our results confirm that NCHDs in Ireland are enthusiastic about engaging in research. The majority acknowledge the value of research in career development. Engaging in research abroad could be further explored as a factor impacting emigration. Our findings show that NCHDs in Ireland are concerned about the impact of GDPR and HRR and are seeking further training.
